The rain falls through the cloudy night, The rivers form and go to seek through the streets, I watch the drops roll down, I peer through the clouds, Waiting for the sky, Waiting for long, Waiting for the sea to form, Watching the wind wash the raindrops down, The rain falls all around my feet, The faces rush by as I walk through the streets, I stop to share the time, I turn to give a dime to the rain-soaked hands, Begging for more, Begging to see what's in store, Finding a home to sit this old man down, The curtains draw back to the sides, The silence begging me to tell them the truth, My mouth opens wide, I point to outside, Standing in the rain, Silently forms, Silence speaks from pointed hands, I think the crowd finally understands.

The Ocean 06:14
The ocean! How mighty and calm, Why does the water crawl to me? (What does the water say to me?) High above, the clouds await and turn away, There's nothing in this silence that I haven't heard before Wondrous and drawing me towards the sparkling light, Taking me into the depths and hiding out of sight The ocean bed sleeps comfortably and in a cave I sleep, There's nothing that can bother me, It's here that I can keep... All the things I want to say, All the games I want to play, All the feelings I want to share, All of me and all that I care, I'm waiting on dust covered shores, Eyeing the tops of foreign waves, (Eyeing the tops so far away,) Back at home, there's steaming pots and waiting signs, There's hopes and cheers and gladness that was never here before, Circling and climbing high to see the farthest light, Imagining and gathering every sound and sight The water waves keep fooling me, that's not the boat I seek, The wind, it blows entirely all things from the sea, Do you see that boat out there? Could it be the one I care? All the feelings drain from me, Standing there facing the sea.

I don't know the feelings in me, Yet I feel they must come out, I know they're there, Exactly where, But I don't know what they're about, I feel as though unwritten songs, Which I know I'd love to sing, Had not the chance to have their turn, No hand prevailed to out them bring, That is why instead of song, To play and quote by ear, I sit and read, Out from the heart, The songs I'd like to hear, Would you care to join me there, To knit rhyme and melody? Just dip your brush into the world, And paint the scenery, Your eyes will glance, you'll find a chance, To isolate what you feel, And as you paint, Along the grain, The feeling becomes real, The song converges heart and sight, Vibrations linked and lent, Till I don't know if they cause me, Or me who causes them.

Looking back over the pages, I'm surprised how much I've seemed to say, While every day I still feel restrained, Though I fall all over the page, Looking 'round among the faces, I try to find who knows to fly, I know I can't but I'm willing to learn, Or at least I'm able to try, No one knows how to listen, And though I am most guilty of all, But still I put my ear to listen, Yet, I don't hear anything at all, So, my voice shatters through the silence, Asking, "How can I reach the sky?" I sit among my notebooks, think and wonder why I need, To look around and always wonder why, But then I find that there's a hidden kingdom, That lays behind the words I've written down, And maybe I will find my hidden kingdom, When I listen out for the sound, Looking 'round among the pages, I can't decide now where to turn my face, While every page is filled with directions, I still can't decipher the place, Looking back down the silent hallway, And wishing that I could be in the sky, I can't help but doubting the silence, So, I'll find my own way to fly, So, I construct together, My notebooks to form a pair of wings, And as I stand here facing the silence, I am prepared for anything, But then the voice calls out from the silence, The music lifts me right through the sky, I leave behind my notebooks for a wanderer like me, Who'll look around and maybe wonder why, And I will fly up to that hidden kingdom, And lay my pages down once and for all, And listeners will find their hidden kingdom, When they listen out for the call.

Flowing on the river, Leaving the city behind, With its noise and its mess and society, To the peaceful place in your mind, The trees stand to the side respectfully, Sliding and gliding on the side, The ocean approaches and beckoning, The river's end opens wide, An explosion raises up the water, You shoot and fly up to the sky, You feel your arms spread out and wrap around, The world you hold close to you inside, You open up your heart, You let the rain pour down, You climb back into the city streets, You climb back towards the ground, Looking around, Hearing the sound, Closing your eyes, Your heart opens wide, And the rain comes down, Turning back to your home, Leaving the street behind, With its lines and its buses and I-before-thee, To the most peaceful place you can find, The dreams thrown to the side playfully, Lighting and hiding on the side, The nighttime approaches and beckoning, The heart's intent opens wide, An infusion raises up together, Your feelings and thoughts to the sky, You know that the person you're supposed to be, Is becoming real to you inside, You open up your heart, You let the curtain down, With all the thoughts so high you see, You bring back towards the ground, Looking within, Hearing the sound, Now, what you feel, Tomorrow is real, And the rain comes down, Opening up the front door, Leaving your claims behind, Of the noise and the mess and society, And the questions will stay in your mind, You just stand to the side respectfully, Smiling and nodding on the side, The whole crowd approaches and begging you, To open the secrets wide, An eruption rises out of you your styles, And patterns upon the world, They race and fill up every corner and space, There's no time to stop what has unfurled, You open up your heart, You let the rain pour down, The world, it shakes with clarity, Your words sealed on the ground, You look around, You hear the sound, You close your eyes, Hearts open wide, And the rain comes down.

I sit here beneath the shade of a sapling tree, I see its shadow gently wave across the grass, I feel something inside of me that's just as calm, And I know that this happiness will forever last, Do you feel the pull of happy times call to you and say, "Do you want to be here forever and do you know the way?" There's a feeling in your soul you know that you can trust, The day that you longed for, You can feel, You can touch, There was a time when I was young, When I felt that I had and was everything, I knew where to go and when I spoke, The world would respond and talk right back to me, Can you draw your eyes? Can you look far and wide? Can you see you have the key? If you tune yourself in, If you line up all the words, You can see all you do in the whole world, And I can remember when right out of me, I'd feel the empathy pour out when I'd play a song, And after it was done I would look around, And everyone would say, "There's something going on," I know! That's what I tried to say a hundred times! There's something going on, There's something in this room, That's reaching out and turning on all the stars in the sky, There's something going on, Please don't let it go, Please don't stop the show, Please don't close your eyes, Feel something inside, Open your heart wide, This is the way, To the day, Do you feel the pull of happy times...

The ducky took a waddle through the forest, To find a place that was quiet, He met a crying shadow in the moonlight, A river flowed by it, He told him that he never saw the city, That glowed each night in the distance, The shadow turned around and ate a mirror, And I haven't seen him since, A hundred years went by, The sun ran through the sky, And the rest, well, We know how it ends, The city reached the sky, They found a reason why, And the train came, And took us all away, Into a whole 'nother kind of day, And then we cried, When we couldn't find, After we saw, All we had to see, And seeing that the end, Was just like the beginning, So, the duck walked back again, The forest and the trees, The water and the breeze, And the wind was crying once again, The apples in the store, The boy outside who's bored, And his mom paid, And drove the kids away into their home, The one in which they stayed forever more, Not how much they're worth, How much they try, And should they want to flee, They'll have to leave a note, What time they'll be returning, So the food will be served warm, "What does it all mean?" Crying out to me, I can hardly see, Ducky turns to you, Pleading with you, Begging you to help, Help him, The river split apart and looked for answers, While strange lights shone on the seashore, The ducky stood awhile and forgave them, For never knowing more, He found a dusty mirror in the moonlight, And peered back into the silence, He counted all the years that came together, And I haven't seen him since, The waves try for the land, The happiness still stands, By the same kind of dreams yesterday, The moon will fall asleep, The eyes of one will keep, And the scene stays, And tries to run away, With all the eyes, That took a chance to know what they were for, And while the word still lingers on the door, And walks across the floor, And settles in a chair, Put there by a stranger, Who might not understand at all... The blankets on the roof, The stars above are proof, That the clouds dream somewhere far away, If ever they come down, They'll make the slightest sound, As the boat floats, And takes our dreams away into the sea, And into what we heard about the war, And everyone will finally have to see, That if we want some peace, We'll have to be prepared, To do whatever thing we deem, From all about our dream, Water crashes down, High upon the ground, Do you hear the sound? Ducky looks again, One more chance, To cry out loud, So, please, Just one time.

Well, we’ve come so far, Down the river, after stars, The luring mountain now so tall, How we wonder if it was worth it all, Years flow down hills and valleys, Around trees and under logs, Our boat has changed many times, While searching among the stars, Our crew has changed many times, With those who seek with us, While some have gone and some are still to come, We know, at least we trust, Now we face the door, Now across we trace the floor, How we behold this precious gem, Like we once did and hoped we’d feel again, Tears flow down cheeks and landing, On the pages we find here, To think how far we have come, And what stayed from all the years, On the mountain top we stand, The wind recalls it all, We sketch our path back to the start, When we hoped we would stand this tall.

Cave 04:47
You try to fly but you fall down, You cry so high, who understands? But may I try or break me down, I give my life, turn me around, Can’t you see I’m here? Do you seem to care? Is the sky too far? Is the sky so near? You had all so dear, Wiped away a tear, Put away and trust, All will reappear, I see this key has broken down, I know, I cry, I understand, And in this cave you wait the day, And on this screen you find a way, I sit down and ask, If you think you’ll pass, Will the whole thing all tumble down at last? You point out the light, Has broke through the night, Then, you say to me, “All will be alright.”

The ghosts of hallowed past are leaving the mansion, The ghosts have gone, The ghosts have gone, They have gone, gone away, They used to live in the mansion, With their own rooms and their spirits, The ghosts of hallowed past are leaving the mansion, The ghosts have gone, The ghosts have gone, gone away, They would have stayed for just a while, But they were tired of living in the mansion, The ghosts of hallowed past are leaving the mansion, The ghosts have gone, The ghosts have gone, gone away, The ghosts of hallowed past are leaving the mansion, The ghosts have gone, The ghosts have gone, They have gone, gone away.

See, What it means to me, When I rest my bones, When I come back home, After all I’ve roamed, After all I’ve done, With what I’ve become, Everywhere I’d run, Towards things I strayed, Or did I run away, While my heart still stayed, And my feet ran along, And my hands stayed strong, As I sang the song, I beheld my eye, As it burned through the sky, As I wrote down why, And I begged with the crowd, To climb through the cloud, That covers the how, To show us the start, The way to our heart, That cries in the dark, That cries from the lack, And for us to come back, If we’d follow the map, And if everyone stayed, Then I won’t be afraid, To act in the play, To voices I’ll heed, I’ll pick up my lead, And if there’s a need, I’ll take up the stand, And I’ll raise my hand, And I’ll understand, And then I’ll be free, And I’ll finally see, What it means to me, When I rest my bones, When I come back home.
